| SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATES HOMICIDE IN AKRON At approximately 6:30 pm on May 21st, Hale County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to 5th Ave S. in Akron on a possible shooting call. Upon arrival deputies discovered 50 year old female, Deneases Myles of Akron with multiple gunshot wounds and 66 year old Clifford "Shorty" Davis of Moundville with a single gunshot wound. Deputies received ...information from witnesses and a short time later the suspect, 53 year old Charles Myles of Akron was taken into custody without incident. Mrs. Deanese Myles was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hale County Coroner's Office and Mr. Davis was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment of his injuries. Charles Myles is currently being held in the Hale County Jail and no bond amount has been set at this time. The suspect is being charged with capital murder and attempted murder. This case is currently under investigation by the Hale County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation. |
